| It
is question of Synergy.
Without the Listener, there is no purpose to the Sound. Without
the Sound, there is no meaning for the Listener.
Thus I believe a slightly more in-depth explanation is in order…
There
is much difficulty in writing a simple essay concerning the structure
and concepts of the four initial albums (two have been produced
so far), as the system which I utilise to express them is as vast
as inner and outer space. The concepts themselves are musical, lyrical
and pictorial representations of the formulas and extrapolations
of Practical Magick, Occult Philosophy and simply observational
living (which as far as I’m concerned are all one and the
same).
Anyone
truly wanting a more in-depth understanding of the theories and
constructs in which the four albums are devised, would find it within
material concerning the Tree of Life, The Enochian Watchtowers,
Alchemical Union, Taoist texts, Tai Chi Chuan, the I Ching, and
Pagan/Shamanistic practices and theories. Yet I shall endeavour
to explain as lucidly and concisely as possible how these systems
apply to Descendants of Cain. I feel I must add at this point that
the concepts portrayed within the albums are heavily (if not entirely)
tainted by my interpretation and findings.
The
Albums
Each
album consists of a Title plus a subtitle. They are as follows:

These titles (Atziluth etc) come from the sections within the Tree
of Life and represent many things, yet the main (explanatory) divisions
are as follows:
1:
The steps involved to depict the creative process. I.e. from the
idea within your mind, to making that idea a reality with which
you may interact. Thus Atziluth represents the idea coming into
being; Briah, the potential for the idea; Yetzirah, the process
of creating the idea and Assiah the idea made manifest in the physical
world. (This process can be directly observed in the creation of
an art work such as an album.)
2:
They are the dimensions/realms of thought or objective realities
that the individual human is in direct contact with.
3:
They are the explanatory realms of the Tree of Life, The Tetragrammaton
and The Four Philosophical Elements of Fire, Water, Air and Earth.
4:
They are the mythical realms for Archetypes such as the aspects
of a Divine Creator or Deity, the Archangels, the orders of angels
(or Hosts) and the Philosophical Planets for use in ceremonial practices.
The Songs
Each
(album) realm or “world” contains ten major divisions
(The Sephiroth). Each division is a formula unto itself yet I have
devised titles that are more suited to practical explanations (in
relation to the creative process) as opposed to the obscure mystical
names. They are as follows:

Thus
each album contains ten songs and each song represents a stage of
development or progression.
They (the albums) are a “living” model of The Tree of
Life, which is essentially a map or filing system for the human
mind in theory and practice.
*The
details concerning the systems that I have applied for the building
of these works are partly of my own construction and thus will not
be available until the completion of my book. This, I might add,
has always been the true focus of my work of which the albums are
intrinsically a part. They are the artistic chapters for the same
ideas and practices that are detailed in the written work. I expect
and hope to have it available to the public shortly after the release
of the fourth album Assiah.
I
trust this has answered some of the questions regarding the concepts
behind the Albums. The music is a personal endeavour to express
and represent the universe that I was born into, and I have had
the pleasure and privilege of working with Iain and Philippa who
have played an intimate and essential part in the last two album’s
creation. I decided when I first began all this to share my findings
(regardless of what people might think) in a way that might inspire
others to discover their own path within a world which, it would
seem, does not yet understand that:
1
We truly know very little about our origins, our universe and ultimately
ourselves.
2
Occultism and religion is no more than a mass of mental/life systems
that offer a platform for humanity to achieve/justify their desires
via Archetypes (and for a large number of Occultists this does not
mean the worship or summons of “The Devil”).
3
Art, Magick and Science are ultimately all the same thing. Each
is devised via convenience and necessity to express, represent and
calculate different aspects of life through subjective human eyes.
4
The discovery and belief of any truth is irrevocably personal and
subjective.
5
Opinions are simply ideas, and ideas are never worth killing for.
(Nobody ever seems to listen to this one!)
So
make what you will of this essay and my music but one thing is for
sure…I’m not stopping until I’m done…
