Another excellent
set from one of the most promising new bands around at the
moment. This was probably the best they have ever sounded (even
an
improvement on Gotham) and that was no doubt partly down to their
new sound
person Hosy who did a fantastic job. Tonight saw the band airing
plenty of
new tracks which IMHO are even better that the older material...and
continuing that unique blend of Dead Can Dance and Fields of the
Nephilim.
If you like atmospheric music you can really loose yourself in I
recommend
you catch Descendants of Cain sometime soon!

Taking the guitar
levels down and emphasising
the vocals & keyboards gave them a kind of heavy-folksy-ethereal
quality
which worked rather well ! IMO rather like Sorrow should have sounded,
but
didn't :)
I hope they
carry on experimenting musically in this way when their tour
gets going - they're sure to gain a much larger audience.

Seeing as Nephilim-influenced
bands are usually Not My Cup of Tea, the
fact that I thoroughly enjoyed DoC should indicate how good they
are.
Plus, they have
very nice t-shirts.
