Yetzirah: The Balance of Disharmonies, The long awaited third album from DoC is in the final stages of its development. I am aware that it is taking a long time to get anywhere near completing this album but I promise once it is seen and heard, you will understand the delay in getting it finished. I do not believe I have ever worked this hard on anything in my entire life and I am sure that it will be worth the wait…I hope ;)
This is where I am…
I have finished Four (n’ a bit) albums worth of material since I began writing for Yetzirah. It is now simply down to the order and choice of the tracks that best depicts the quintessence and atmosphere that “describe” Yetzirah’s concepts. I guess that the blessing of not having a label at this stage has allowed me the time to pursue this project and see it through to a more natural conclusion rather than working to a dead line based in £ signs. So when I am finally done with it…dotted the last “I”’s and crossed the last “T”’s…I’ll give it to you to wonder through… :)

Firstly, you can listen to a track from "The Book of Changes" HERE.

Secondly I would like to thank everyone who has ordered a copy of my latest release. The response was quite overwhelming as were the positive remarks from fans who took the time to tell me what they thought. It is all very much appreciated and I hope to continue hearing from you.

And finally I would like to inform everyone that after two years of very late nights and a great deal of tea, I have finally completed all the material for Yetzirah. As of Monday the 12th of July I will begin the arduous task of producing the songs and turning them into the completed album. I can give no exact dates for the albums release but I am aiming (with all optimism) for March 2005. Let us hope for the best…

Thanks again for your continued support…

April 2004

As there will be no live performances accompanying the release of the 4-track, join us at Club Tenebrae (Gossips, 69 Dean Street, London) where we will be distributing copies to the public for the first time - thereafter cd's will be available through the website and other sources to be announced.

The Book of Changes…The Yetzirah Demo CD
This is the new release I have put together to give those who loved ATzILUTH and Briah a chance to become accustomed to the ever evolving sound that has presented itself within Yetzirah. I honestly felt that it would be unfair to the listeners who have followed DoC’s progression since the beginning, to just release the album without being able to understand the steps or leaps I have made to get to this anthemic and strangely compelling album. Thus I simply decided to release some of my favorite tracks to show the diversity of sounds (also to release them as they were when they were first recorded).
I hope you enjoy this glimpse…

November 2001

The November 23rd Coventry gig has been cancelled... but we will be playing at Tenebrae at the end of the month (fri 30th Nov) - and we'll have 3-track 'Briah' sampler CDs to give away featuring preliminary mixes of some of our new recordings for the forthcoming album. The core recordinigs for Briah have been completed, and we are planning to do the final mixes in December. Work continues on the Artwork for the album, and we are (so far) on target for a release early next year...

September / October 2001

After a succesful debut at Camden's Devonshire Arms at the beginning of September (look out for more gigs here soon), we have decided to take time out from rehearsing / gigging and concentrate on recording our second album 'BRIAH'. **this means that we will not be appearing at September or October's club Tenebrae** - the next scheduled live appearance is the Fri November 23rd gig in Coventry with Leisurehive & Psychophile, followed by the November 30th club Tenebrae slot. See here for more details.

Thanx to the Coventry crowd for inviting us back after an enthusiastic welcome at the Heresy Half - Day'er (and an impressive performance from the Cruxshadows).

July 2001

July's club Tenebrae appearance was our new sound engineer Hosanna's second gig, and we're pleased to say that it's obvious that she has got the hang of engineering our sound.

We have been booked to play an out - of - town gig in Coventry. This will be a half - day event on August 12th playing with the Cruxshadows, Libitina, Phantasmagory and Illumina. (the Heresy Half-Day'er, 3.30 to 10.30, Scholars, Vecqueray St, Coventry, £6 adv : £7.50 Door. More details at http://get.to/heresy or tel. 024 76591744. )

An extremely generous benefactor has provided us with digital multitrack recording facilities. This means we can start to make the master recordings for our second album 'BRIAH' as soon as we have become familiar with the equipment. A preliminary date of mid September 2001 has been set for the recordings, with hopes of a CD release before the end of the year / early next year. More news soon!

June 2001

D o C T shirts are now available from the band - black with a front print. You can get one from us at our gigs or order one here - cost 8 quid. They will be appearing in Resurrection Records (Camden) soon...

We were well recieved at Gotham, where we played a tight set with excellent sound and loads of smoke :-). The next gig will be a return to Exile, the members only once monthly club in Bath, Somerset we played at last year. This will be our new sound engineer Hosanna's first gig, for which she will be training hard over the next month! (Exile gig on 7th July at the Porter Butt, London rd, Bath)

April 2001

Shane has told the band he wishes to discontinue his involvement on the Production, Management and sound engineering side due to other commitments. He has agreed to do the sound engineering for April and May's Tenebrae and Gotham, meanwhile the search begins for another dedicated sound engineer.

March 2001

Descendants of Cain have been booked to play the opening slot at Gotham 2001, Sun 27th May 2001 at the LA2 (now the mean fiddler), Charing Cross Rd, London. Playing this all-dayer with Inkubus Sukkubus, Star Industry, This Burning Effigy, Killing Miranda, House of Usher, Two Witches, Squid

January 2001

We have just returned from a new-year month's break in South Africa, where we thought about our plans for this year and even got into the newspapers!

New MP3 samples will be posted soon from the demo recordings we recently made of the as - yet unreleased songs which are to make up our proposed second album BRIAH (to be properly recorded and released sometime this year).

October 2nd 2000

Tenebrae residency at Gossips extended indefinitely due to a very warm welcome... thanx.

July 15th 2000

* Our CDs are now available through Resurrection Records and Nightbreed recordings, in the UK and abroad.

*We are playing at Gossips nightclub, Soho, London for a 3 month residency on the last friday of each month before club Tenebrae (a great club night) - 5 new songs will be showcased as part of the live sets.

20th June 2000

Today we picked up the first batch of ATzILUTH CDs from the printers - they were spot on. Launch gig at Gossips tonight!

13th June 2000

Since we last surfaced supporting Inkubbus Sukkubus at our debut gig in October last year, Descendants of Cain have been very busy. November 12th 99 we began recording our debut album, ATzILUTH. Each recording was performed live and mixed straight onto the master to maintain the energy and passion created by the three of us playing together and to replicate our live sound. During January / February 2000 as we were finishing the recordings, some new songs began to emerge. They had a poweful new feel to them, and we had to start thinking about the next album, BRIAH..... Meanwhile there was plenty to do in the form of promotion work, artwork for the album, setting up our own record company, getting the album printed & pressed, and arranging a new set including some of the new material for upcoming gigs. We also started experimenting with stage lighting and effects to enhance our performance..
